Global Wellness Day Korea: A Transformative Retreat for Mind and Body Renewal

Embark on a Journey of Wellness in Gangwon as Global Wellness Day Meets the Global Gangwon Wellness Week

OAK VALLEY

If you're yearning to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit, then Global Wellness Day (GWD) in Korea presents the perfect retreat for you. This year, the idyllic province of Gangwon takes center stage as the main host for GWD Korea, offering an array of revitalizing experiences starting this Saturday. Among the notable venues is the picturesque Oak Valley resort in Wonju, Gangwon, which has curated an exquisite lineup of events spread across two weekends, inviting visitors to embark on a transformative wellness journey.

Notably, GWD Korea beautifully aligns with the 2023 Global Gangwon Wellness Week, an occasion that celebrates Gangwon's imminent elevation to a "state" from its current status as a "province." From June 9 to 18, an assortment of wellness-related activities will be scattered across nine counties in Gangwon, including Wonju, Gangneung, Yangyang, and Pyeongchang.

Under the inspiring theme "One day can change your whole life!" Oak Valley resort has thoughtfully designed a series of programs to cater to diverse wellness interests. Participants can engage in invigorating Zumba and Pilates classes, indulge in transformative singing bowl therapy sessions, and embark on serene forest walks. Each day offers a handful of hour-long sessions accommodating around 20 to 30 participants, and the best part? All activities are entirely free of charge.

To ensure a seamless experience, participants can conveniently make reservations in advance via online platforms or on-site registrations at Oak Valley. This user-friendly approach ensures that every visitor can secure their preferred time slot for a personalized wellness journey.

Originating as a not-for-profit international day in Turkey in 2012, Global Wellness Day has become a global movement dedicated to promoting the philosophy of "living well." Now celebrated annually on the second Saturday of June, this transformative day has garnered participation from 110 nations, including Israel, Italy, Kenya, New Zealand, and Korea.

In Korea, Global Wellness Day has been joyously embraced since 2018, captivating wellness enthusiasts across the nation. With its awe-inspiring landscapes and commitment to holistic well-being, Gangwon serves as an ideal backdrop for this profound celebration of self-care and mindful living.

Additionally, Oak Valley resort is thrilled to introduce a captivating social media event for attendees. Participants are encouraged to capture a "confident" photograph of themselves practicing yoga or meditating at the designated GWD photo op spots and share it on Instagram with the following hashtags in Korean: #OakValley, #GlobalWellnessDay, and #OakValleyGlobalWellnessDay. As an incentive, eight lucky winners will be chosen to receive exclusive vouchers redeemable at Oak Valley. The announcement of the winners will take place on the resort's Instagram page on June 29, adding an exciting element of community engagement to the wellness festivities.

Furthermore, the 2023 Global Gangwon Wellness Week encompasses a range of remarkable venues dedicated to enriching participants' well-being journeys. The Healing Life Forest in Samcheok invites visitors to partake in a serene yoga session on June 13, while the Romyzian Garden in Jeongseon offers tranquil singing bowl therapy sessions on June 16 and 17, providing additional opportunities for introspection and renewal.
