An archaeologist who brings back memories, Manuel Solano

Manuel Solano is a Mexican painter based in Berlin, Germany.
She is an acquired blind person who lost her sight to complications of HIV in 2017.

After losing her sight, she thought she would no longer be able to paint, but eventually teamed up and developed her creative way of painting.

Manuel attaches nails, pins, and strings to the canvas and touches them to complete the painting.
She said, "Touch, communication, and trust are my most important three ingredients for painting."

The subject of her painting is the world she saw before she became blind.
Her daily life scenes, such as friends, family, and celebrities are soon redrawn on her canvas.

She has now held her second solo exhibition and her first solo exhibition in Korea, 'Pijama' at the Peres Project in Korea.
Peres Project has three branches in Germany, Korea, and Italy, discovering and sponsoring artists from all over the world.

The exhibition will be held from the 30th to January 14th next year at Peres Project Korea located in Jongro-gu, Seoul.
