Designer Park So-young will initiate the fashion week with a presentation of her fall-winter collection for Julycolumn at DDP. K-pop band NewJeans, serving as the ambassadors for Seoul Fashion Week this season, will promote the event with a performance on Thursday.
Fifteen designers will showcase their collections at runways in DDP, while six designers will present at SFactory in Seongsu-dong, a trendy neighborhood for young fashion.
Designers emphasize themes such as sustainability and a blend of East and West, aiming to reduce waste and reinterpret timeless heritage.
By advancing Seoul Fashion Week in the international fashion calendar, Seoul becomes the first city to host a fashion week this season, preceding New York. This strategic move aims to attract more international buyers with increased purchasing power.
International department stores and select shops, including Harvey Nichols, Lane Crawford, 3NY, and Andrea Murkudis, will have representatives present at the show, indicating potential for significant purchases and furthering the global reach of local brands.
