Snow White Becomes HAC Fan on Building Facade in Le Havre

Sayart / Sep 4, 2025

A massive artwork featuring Snow White proudly displaying the logo of Le Havre Athletic Club (HAC) has appeared on a building facade in Le Havre, France. The eye-catching installation, created by local artist David Karsenty, serves as an artistic cover for construction work and will remain visible for six to eight weeks on Rue de Sainte-Adresse.

The artwork depicts Snow White wearing a graffiti artist's mask with the HAC soccer club's emblem prominently displayed on her chest. Located at the border between Le Havre's Saint-Vincent district and the city of Sainte-Adresse, the large tarp has been covering construction work on the building since early September 2025. Karsenty, a well-known artist among Le Havre residents, sees this as an opportunity to showcase his work beyond traditional gallery spaces.

"It's always interesting to show your work somewhere other than in a gallery, where you're not expected," Karsenty explained. The artist noted that this particular Snow White image has gained international attention, with people sending him photos from countries around the world. Originally created on canvas, the artwork has been adapted to various formats, including portable stickers that fans can take with them.

For this oversized version on the construction tarp, Karsenty specifically added the HAC logo to Snow White's torso as a way to demonstrate his local roots. "Le Havre is my roots, and since I'm a soccer fan," the artist commented. The image has already been shared on social media by HAC supporters, which delights Karsenty. "Art is meant to be shared," he affirmed.

The large tarp covers the entire side of the building on Rue d'Epernon and was commissioned by SAS Lemetayer Batiment, a stonework company that will be working on the wall for six to eight weeks. The company collaborated with Galerie Hamon to provide this artistic solution during the construction period. This initiative had previously featured works by other artists, including Jace's "Gouzous" characters on Avenue René-Coty in July 2024 and Teuthis's animal artwork on Boulevard de Strasbourg in December.

Karsenty, described as a "100 percent Le Havre" street artist, has been working in collaboration with Galerie Hamon for approximately twenty years. His work can be found on many walls throughout Le Havre, making him a familiar name in the local art scene. The current installation represents a creative approach to construction site management, transforming what could be an eyesore into a celebration of local culture and sports pride.
