Global K-pop superstar group BTS is reportedly preparing for an extensive world tour in 2026, marking their most ambitious comeback yet after all seven members completed their mandatory military service. The tour is expected to include approximately 65 performances across major cities worldwide, generating tremendous excitement among the group's international fanbase.
According to industry sources cited by Bloomberg, more than 30 of these planned shows are set to take place in North America alone, making this BTS's largest tour to date. The ambitious scale of the tour reflects the group's massive global popularity and the high demand from fans who have been eagerly awaiting their full-group return.
All seven BTS members - RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook - have now completed their mandatory South Korean military service, with Suga being the final member to be discharged in June. This milestone clears the way for the group to reunite and resume their activities as a complete unit for the first time in several years.
Sources indicate that the group has recently begun collaborating with their management company HYBE on a new album, which would be their first release as a full group in six years. The highly anticipated album is expected to drop around late March, setting the stage for their world tour later in the year.
The last time BTS attempted to organize a world tour was in 2020, but those plans were completely canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic that disrupted the global entertainment industry. Instead, the group managed to hold 12 concerts across four major U.S. cities between 2021 and 2022, adapting to pandemic restrictions and safety protocols.
Their most recent full-group performance took place in Las Vegas in April 2022, after which the members began pursuing individual solo projects while also fulfilling their military service obligations. This period saw each member exploring their artistic identities independently while maintaining the group's overall brand presence.
According to data from Pollstar, a leading U.S. concert industry publication, BTS generated approximately $300 million (roughly 430 billion Korean won) from their various tours between 2015 and 2022. Industry experts believe this figure is likely conservative, as it may not account for all performances and additional revenue streams associated with their touring activities.
If the proposed 2026 world tour moves forward as planned, it has the potential to become one of the most financially successful tours in popular music history, given BTS's expanded global reach and the pent-up demand from fans worldwide.
When approached for comment, BigHit Music, HYBE's label that manages BTS, remained cautious about confirming specific details. A representative stated that "nothing has been decided" regarding the tour and indicated that official announcements with specific details would be made at a later date.
