Les Filles de la Photo, a prominent French photography network, has announced the launch of CURATION – Capsule Mode, a groundbreaking national initiative aimed at promoting and showcasing professional photographers who explore fashion through unique and contemporary perspectives. The program, which is supported by French fashion brand Maje, seeks to move beyond traditional fashion photography clichés and highlight innovative visual approaches.

The capsule edition will focus on three distinct areas of photographic work: Fashion/Beauty/Lifestyle, Art/Concept (including publishing), and Expertise/Documentary. This comprehensive approach ensures that photographers from various specialties within fashion photography can participate and showcase their diverse artistic visions.

Open to photographers nationwide, CURATION – Capsule Mode is designed to foster meaningful connections between photographers and image industry experts from the fashion and cultural sectors. These professionals include exhibition curators, gallery representatives, stylists, press members, art buyers, publishers, photographer representatives, and art directors. The exchanges between photographers and industry experts will be organized both online and in-person, providing photographers with valuable opportunities to present their work and receive professional feedback and perspectives.

At the conclusion of the selection process, curators will recognize six photographers based on the strength of their artistic vision and the quality of their approach. These selected talents will receive significant exposure through the social media platforms of both Les Filles de la Photo and Maje, the initiative's sponsor. This recognition affirms the program's commitment to supporting emerging creativity and promoting diverse perspectives in fashion photography.

The initiative follows a structured timeline beginning with an extended application period. Photographers have until October 30, 2025, to submit their applications through the Les Filles de la Photo website. In early November 2025, selected photographers will be contacted by curators, followed by meeting sessions between photographers and curators from November 5-21, 2025. The final announcement of the six distinguished photographers will be published during the week of November 24, 2025.

"By building bridges between photographers, curators, and fashion industry figures, we support a vibrant form of photography, rooted in its time and open to multiple expressions," said Karin Hémar, Co-President of Les Filles de la Photo. Her statement emphasizes the organization's commitment to creating meaningful connections within the photography community.

Judith Milgrom, founder and artistic director of Maje, expressed her company's dedication to the initiative, stating, "At Maje, we believe in the creative power of women. By supporting emerging photography, we continue our commitment to empowering women." This partnership aligns with Maje's broader mission of supporting female creativity and artistic expression.

Les Filles de la Photo operates as both an action-oriented network and a think tank for photography and cultural professionals. The organization is committed to the recognition of photography professions, artists, and contemporary photographic creation.
