On Friday, V of BTS offered glimpses of his forthcoming solo digital single, "Fri(end)s," through a set of six photographs shared by label Big Hit Music. In contrast to the playful teaser clip released the day before, which featured objects interacting with the letters from the album title, the new images depict V projecting an air of aloofness and restraint.

Scheduled for release on March 15, "Fri(end)s" is described as an English-language pop soul R&B tune focusing on the theme of love. This marks V's return to solo work approximately six months after the success of his solo EP, "Layover," which achieved sales exceeding 2 million units and secured the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200.

Notably, V is currently fulfilling his military duty in a special task force for the military police in Gangwon Province. Anticipated to be discharged in June 2025.
