Two creative entrepreneurs have recently opened a shared workspace called "Le Tâf" at 6 rue des six frères Ruellan in Saint-Malo's Paramé district. The collaborative space brings together Marie Aizier, a 42-year-old interior architect running Atelier Cézembre, and Fred Borel, a 36-year-old video producer behind Ducktape production company.
Both professionals share a common background of career transitions before establishing their respective businesses. They now welcome clients by appointment in a workspace that reflects their creative personalities and professional expertise.
Marie Aizier, who previously worked as a lawyer, completed training to become an interior architect eight years ago. "Valérie, who runs a beauty salon in Paramé, was the first client to trust me," Marie recalls. Her services cater to both businesses and private clients, focusing on creating personalized spaces that truly represent her clients' identities.
"I collaborate with various local craftsmen, particularly carpenters, to showcase noble and sustainable materials while providing a timeless foundation," Marie explains. "I adapt to different budgets and design everything from A to Z, offering mood boards and 3D sketches." She has had the opportunity to renovate interiors for several types of businesses, including beauty salons, hair salons, chocolate shops, and café-restaurants.
Marie addresses a growing need in today's social media-driven world where people often feel overwhelmed by countless home renovation ideas. "In the era of social networks where we see everything about redoing our homes in this or that way, people often feel lost. They need someone who listens to them to create a space that truly represents them," she notes.
Fred Borel brings a different creative perspective to the shared space. After establishing his creative agency Ducktape in 2017 and starting his career in the Lille region, he recently moved to Brittany. He aims to establish his presence among businesses in the Saint-Malo and Rennes markets, which he believes have strong "tourist and cultural dynamics."
"As an independent video producer, I collaborate with a network of service providers who possess the technical skills necessary for my filming projects: camera operators, editors, motion designers, sound engineers," Fred explains. "My role is to orchestrate everything to achieve the result desired by the client." He works with brands and institutional clients to promote products, services, and commercial launches, producing digital advertising content that appears on streaming video platforms.
The shared workspace concept allows both professionals to maintain their individual client relationships while benefiting from a collaborative creative environment. They receive clients by appointment in their thoughtfully designed space, which serves as both a working environment and a showcase of their creative capabilities.
For those interested in learning more about their services, both businesses maintain active online presences. The establishment of Le Tâf represents a growing trend of creative professionals seeking collaborative spaces that foster innovation while maintaining their individual business identities.
