Korean jazz quartet 30 Club is set to make their international debut at JazzFest Budapest this November, marking a significant milestone for contemporary Korean jazz on the European stage. The innovative ensemble, led by saxophonist Kim Chanyoung, was recently recognized as the Best Emerging Artist at the 2025 Jarasum Jazz Festival, cementing their status as rising stars in Korea's vibrant jazz scene.
The quartet's distinctive musical approach combines explosive energy with refined sensitivity, creating performances that audiences find both fiery and deeply moving. Their sound explores the full spectrum of jazz genres, resulting in a unique musical identity that resonates with listeners on multiple levels. This versatility has already helped them conquer major concert venues throughout South Korea, building a strong domestic following before their European venture.
30 Club features a talented lineup of musicians who each bring their own expertise to the group's dynamic sound. Kim Chanyoung leads on saxophone, while Vinnie Kim provides the rhythmic foundation on double bass. The ensemble is completed by Moohyun Choi on drums and Da Eun Kim on piano, creating a well-balanced quartet that showcases the depth of Korea's contemporary jazz talent.
The highly anticipated concert will take place on November 18 at Jedermann Café in Budapest, presented jointly by the Jarasum Jazz Festival and JazzFest Budapest. This collaboration represents an important cultural exchange between Korean and Hungarian music scenes, introducing Hungarian audiences to the evolving sound of modern Korean jazz. The Korean Cultural Center in Hungary is providing official support for the performance, highlighting the cultural significance of this international debut.
The event marks a crucial step in 30 Club's mission to bring contemporary Korean jazz to international audiences, potentially opening doors for other Korean jazz artists to follow in their footsteps on the global stage.
