Echo Fine Arts has partnered with Un Moment BARNES – Come Prima in Mougins to present a new edition of "La Famille," a pop-up solo exhibition featuring the work of acclaimed French photographer Alain Laboile. The exhibition, which runs until January 3, 2026, showcases both newly released images and iconic works that have defined Laboile's artistic career.
"La Famille" invites visitors to explore Laboile's intimate and timeless vision of family life through his distinctive black and white photography. The self-taught photographer uses his Leica Q with a 28mm lens to capture the joy, chaos, and poetry of childhood, creating what critics describe as a universal testament to freedom, connection with nature, and the passage of time. His work transforms everyday family moments into profound visual narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide.
Through photographs of his six children, Laboile has crafted what he calls a unique family cosmogony – a visual poem where natural elements like the rustle of leaves, splashes of water, and whispers of childhood curiosity become powerful storytelling devices. His photography style is characterized by what art critics describe as "quiet, instinctive immediacy," capturing spontaneous moments that speak to universal human experiences far beyond his personal family sphere.
Laboile has firmly established himself within both French and international photography circles through his exceptional artistic achievements. His accolades include receiving the prestigious 2019 Global Peace Photo Award for his work "La Dispute" and the HiP Prize for Best Youth Photography Book. Additionally, the French Museum of Photography has honored his contributions to the medium by including 32 of his prints in their permanent collection, cementing his status as a significant contemporary photographer.
The exhibition is being held at Un Moment BARNES – Come Prima, located at 461 Avenue Saint-Basile, 06250 Mougins. Art enthusiasts and photography lovers can view Laboile's compelling family portraits and experience his unique artistic vision until the exhibition closes on January 3, 2026.
