J-Hope of BTS will release a five-track remix version of his hit single Mona Lisa on April 1 at 1 p.m. KST, according to a statement by BigHit Music. Titled Mona Lisa – Remix so fine, the extended-release reimagines the original track in a variety of genre-defying styles, reflecting both the artist’s sonic versatility and a desire to thank fans for their global support.

The remix EP features five distinct versions: the original track, a UK garage remix, an afro house remix, a sped-up cut, and a slowed-down rendition. Each variation introduces a new dimension to the song’s character, building upon its witty homage to alluring personalities through the metaphor of Leonardo da Vinci’s famed painting.

The UK garage remix emphasizes rhythmic bounce with percussive layers reminiscent of Jersey Club, while the afro house version incorporates Latin-inspired percussion, blending global club aesthetics into J-Hope’s distinctively playful energy. The sped-up mix increases the tempo for a heightened sense of urgency, whereas the slowed-down version offers a more laid-back, sultry interpretation.

Originally released as part of J-Hope’s artistic evolution post-BTS group activities, Mona Lisa quickly garnered international acclaim. The song reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in 74 countries and territories and soared to No. 12 on Spotify’s Global Daily Top Songs chart. Its global appeal is reinforced by strong showings in major Western music markets.

On March 29, Mona Lisa entered the UK Official Singles Chart at No. 56, demonstrating J-Hope’s continuing resonance with listeners in English-speaking territories. This marks the latest in a series of chart successes, following previous solo and collaborative releases that also landed on significant charts.

BigHit Music stated that the remix project was created in direct response to the enthusiastic reception from fans worldwide. The label emphasized J-Hope’s commitment to expanding the artistic narrative around Mona Lisa through cross-genre reinterpretation.

The release comes at a time when remix culture in K-pop is gaining greater traction, particularly as artists explore alternate versions of lead tracks to sustain engagement across digital platforms. In this context, Mona Lisa – Remix so fine stands as both a musical experiment and a marketing innovation, showcasing J-Hope’s flair for reimagining content with global reach.

As J-Hope continues to shape his solo identity during BTS’s group hiatus, Mona Lisa and its remix suite reinforce his position as one of the most stylistically diverse performers in contemporary Korean music. The project also reflects a broader shift in K-pop toward deeper genre exploration and artistic authorship.
