Tving's "Bargain," Netflix's "The Glory" and "Mask Girl," along with Disney+'s "Moving," Among Contenders

The 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards, scheduled for January 14 in Los Angeles, has unveiled seven nominations for the best foreign language series. Four Korean dramas have made the cut: Tving's "Bargain," Netflix's "The Glory" and "Mask Girl," and Disney+'s "Moving."

"Bargain" explores the storyline of individuals enticed to a secluded hotel, unwittingly becoming involved in an organ trafficking operation. Meanwhile, "The Glory" revolves around a woman seeking revenge on former schoolmates who bullied her in her youth.

"Mask Girl" delves into the life of a woman aspiring to be a stage performer but facing obstacles due to her appearance. On the other hand, "Moving" focuses on three teens possessing genetic superhuman abilities, hunted down by a government organization.

Competing alongside these Korean dramas are "The Good Mothers" (Hulu), "The Interpreter of Silence" (Disney+), and "Lupin" (Netflix).

"The Morning Show" (Apple TV+) leads the nominations with six, followed closely by HBO's "Succession" with five nominations.

This year marks the third consecutive recognition of Korean content in the best foreign language series category at the Critics Choice Awards, known for its predictive accuracy of Academy Award nominations. In the previous edition, Apple TV+'s "Pachinko" secured the title, adapting the bestselling 2017 novel by Korean American author Min-jin Lee, depicting the journey of a Korean family relocating to Japan in the 20th century.

During the 27th Critics Choice Awards in 2022, Netflix's "Squid Game" and Lee Jung-jae received accolades for best foreign language series and best actor in a drama series, respectively.
