Gallery Grimson will launch its 2025 exhibition season with L.E.A.P, a showcase featuring ten emerging artists who have established a presence in contemporary art. The exhibition will run from March 11 to March 29 at Gallery Grimson Seoul.
Since its inception in 2021, the L.E.A.P project has selected and supported young artists with promising careers, providing them with a platform for continuous artistic growth. The participating artists in this year’s edition have previously been introduced through Gallery Grimson’s emerging artist program and have since demonstrated their distinctive sculptural expressions and artistic expertise in the contemporary art scene.

For over 15 years, Gallery Grimson has played a significant role in discovering and fostering new talent, closely observing their development within various sectors of the art market. The gallery views this ongoing engagement as a meaningful process that contributes to both the artists’ careers and the broader evolution of contemporary art.
This year’s L.E.A.P exhibition features a diverse range of artistic practices, including painting, objects, and sculpture. The participating artists—Kwon Soo Yeon, Kim Do Soo, Kim Bong Kyung, Kim Seok Ho, Kim Yeon Do, Kim Jae Hyun, Kim Hyun Jung, Bang Soo Yeon, Lim Hyun Hee, and Jeong Ji Yong—each bring their own unique perspectives to the exhibition. Their works explore themes of identity, memory, human experience, and the passage of time, offering audiences an immersive dialogue between artistic interpretation and contemporary thought.

For instance, Kwon Soo Yeon examines the relationship between majority and minority groups through representations of chairs, aiming to evoke reflections on coexistence and diversity. Meanwhile, Kim Do Soo captures intimate aspects of daily life and personal spaces, portraying them as sanctuaries for rest and healing.
Other notable contributions include Kim Bong Kyung’s exploration of solitude and personal resilience, Kim Seok Ho’s study of human forms and identity, and Kim Yeon Do’s delicate ink paintings that depict the interplay between nighttime landscapes and inner contemplation. Kim Jae Hyun focuses on the raw beauty of nature, while Kim Hyun Jung creates layered reflections of water that symbolize the subconscious. Bang Soo Yeon’s work delves into fragmented moments in time, and Lim Hyun Hee presents contrasting views of the ocean’s dual nature—both serene and turbulent. Lastly, Jeong Ji Yong reconstructs past atmospheres and emotions, blending reality with imagined landscapes.
Through this exhibition, Gallery Grimson continues to foster a dynamic artistic discourse, bridging the gap between emerging talents and contemporary art audiences.
