South Korea will play against Thailand in Seoul on Thursday in the third game of the second round of qualification for the 2026 World Cup. With victories against Singapore and China in the previous two games, a win against Thailand would significantly advance South Korea's position in the qualification process.
Following a 3-0 victory over China in November, South Korea experienced coaching changes with Jurgen Klinsmann's departure after the Asian Cup campaign. Interim coach Hwang Sun-hong, known for his experience in the K League and with the Korean U-23 team, now leads the team.
