Renowned violinist Koo's career trajectory was shaped by a pivotal decision to pursue music professionally at the age of 16, sparked by his exposure to the transformative power of music at an art camp.
Despite starting relatively later compared to peers, Koo's dedication to his craft led him to enroll in music school, where he encountered formidable Korean and Chinese violinists. Determined to excel, he embraced a rigorous practice routine and cultivated a resilient mindset, drawing inspiration from figures like comedian Yoo Jae-suk and soprano Sumi Jo.
Koo credits his success to a relentless pursuit of excellence and an appreciation for routine, exemplified by his early morning practice sessions and unwavering commitment to his craft.
His admiration for Sumi Jo stems from her guidance and encouragement, motivating him to embrace versatility as a musician. Reflecting on her counsel, Koo embarked on diverse projects, including his latest digital single "Moonlight," a collaboration with jazz pianist Cho Yoon-seung.
"Moonlight" features four classically influenced pieces, including concertos for violin and piano, showcasing Koo's musical versatility. Despite initial doubts about his vocal abilities, Koo's unique tone and passion for storytelling through lyrics drove him to explore singing, adding a new dimension to his artistic repertoire.
