BTOB's Yook Sung-jae Returns to Music Scene with Solo Album After Four-Year Hiatus

"EXHIBITION: Look Closely" Marks Yook's First Solo Project Since 2020

K-pop artist and actor Yook Sung-jae, a member of boy band BTOB, has made his comeback to the music scene with the release of his solo album on Thursday.

Titled "EXHIBITION: Look Closely," the album marks Yook's first solo project in four years, following his 2020 special album "YOOK O'clock."

Leading the album is the track "BE SOMEBODY," characterized by trap beats, captivating guitar riffs, and Yook's commanding vocals. Yook's direct involvement in the songwriting process aims to convey a message of hope amidst adversity through the lyrics.

The album features two additional tracks: "Without You," delving into themes of separation upon uncovering a loved one's deceit, and "The Ghost," a poignant ballad expressing the longing to escape the anguish of love.

In an official statement, Yook's agency, IWill Entertainment, expressed anticipation for the album, noting that Yook Sung-jae aims to showcase a diverse range of charms previously unseen, alongside unwavering affection for his fanbase.

Since his debut in 2012 as a member of BTOB, Yook has garnered acclaim for his soulful vocals, notably showcased in the group's chart-topping hits including "Missing You" (2017), "Only One for Me" (2018), and "Beautiful Pain" (2018).

In addition to his music career, Yook has established himself as an actor, appearing in various television series such as "Who Are You: School 2015" (2015), "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" (2016), and "The Golden Spoon" (2022).
