In a Premier League match on Saturday, Manchester City secured a resounding 5-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City's Erling Haaland showcased a stellar performance, netting four goals during the game. The victory puts Manchester City in a strong position in their pursuit of defending their Premier League title.

The match saw Manchester City taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the first half, with Haaland contributing two penalties among his four goals. Julian Alvarez added the fifth goal for Manchester City in the 85th minute after substituting for Haaland.

Wolverhampton Wanderers managed to score their lone goal through Hwang Hee-chan in the 53rd minute, following a deflection from Ederson.

This victory evens the score between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester City at 1-1 for the season, with Wolverhampton having won their previous home fixture in September last year.

Hwang Hee-chan's goal in this match marks his 12th goal of the season, despite missing nine games due to injury and participation in the Asian Cup. He has amassed a total of 20 Premier League goals over his three seasons in the English league.

Wolves manager Gary O'Neil attributed his team's loss to the early penalty awarded to Manchester City, stating that it disrupted Wolves' momentum.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola remained focused on the title race, emphasizing the importance of the remaining games in determining the outcome of the season.

Guardiola praised Haaland's performance but expressed disappointment at his reaction to being substituted off in the final moments of the game.

Haaland, reflecting on his performance, credited his teammates and coach for their support and looked ahead to the remaining fixtures of the season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will face Crystal Palace next Saturday before concluding their season against Liverpool on May 19. Manchester City's remaining matches include fixtures against Fulham, Tottenham, and West Ham.
