Hyein of NewJeans will be on hiatus due to a foot injury, as confirmed by the group's agency, Ador, on Wednesday.

Diagnosed with a hairline fracture last month, Hyein has been undergoing treatment and focusing on recovery. Consequently, she will be unable to participate in promotional activities for the group's upcoming single "How Sweet," as movement could potentially affect her injury.

NewJeans is scheduled to release a double single album on May 24, followed by another in Japan on June 21.

The music video for "Bubble Gum," one of the singles from the upcoming release, premiered last week, quickly gaining traction. It ranked No. 2 on YouTube's weekly trending music video chart, accumulating 5 million views within 13 hours of release and exceeding 27 million views as of Wednesday.
