K-pop sensation Infinite celebrates a momentous milestone as the beloved boy band commemorates its 13th year in the industry with a flourish of excitement. At a press conference held in southern Seoul on Monday, the members expressed their elation at reuniting under their newly founded agency, Infinite Company, and unveiled their much-anticipated album "13egin."
"We've been waiting so long for this moment," shared Nam Woo-hyun, one of the members. "We love Infinite so much. We're confident with our new work, and we've been preparing so hard for this, so we ask for your support."
"13egin," the band's seventh EP, cleverly combines the word "begin" with the number of years Infinite has spent together since their debut in 2010. The lead track, "New Emotions," headlines the album alongside other captivating songs like "Intro: 13," "I Got You," and "Find Me."
The album marks a significant milestone for the group, as it is their first new music release with all members in five years since their third full-length album, "Top Seed." Following the release of their last single, "Clock," in 2019, the band took a hiatus due to members fulfilling their military duties and concluding their contracts with Woollim Entertainment simultaneously.
Although the members are now signed with various agencies for their individual activities, they have reunited under the newly established Infinite Company, spearheaded by leader Kim Sung-kyu, who now serves as the company's president. This move represents a fresh chapter for the band, allowing them to manage and promote themselves with renewed passion and determination.
"We felt even more determined than we did in our debut days," stated Jang Dong-woo. "Having founded Infinite Company and taking the initiative in every single process of making the album meant a whole different level of sincerity for us — so much more emotional. I think we tried even harder than we did in our early years."
Infinite initially debuted as a seven-member band in 2010, and though they faced changes over the years, their music remained a timeless staple in the K-pop scene. Known for their iconic hits like "Be Mine" (2011), "Man In Love" (2013), "Bad" (2015), and "The Eye" (2016), Infinite's comeback is eagerly awaited by fans worldwide.
In celebration of their return, Infinite has announced a series of concert performances, starting at the KSPO Dome in Songpa District, southern Seoul, on August 19 and 20. They will then delight international audiences with shows in Yokohama on August 27, Taipei on September 2, and Macau on September 9.
As the iconic boy band embarks on this new chapter, fans and music enthusiasts alike anticipate a powerful display of talent and passion that has defined Infinite's remarkable journey in K-pop.
