See fascinating masterpieces in the exhibition "Habsburg 600 Years"
Hello. My name is SayArt-Art Consultant ReaA Jung.
A very important exhibition is being held in Korea. Masterpieces owned by the Habsburgs, Europe's greatest royal family, called 'the country where the sun never sets', are on display at the National Museum of Korea.

This exhibition was held to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and Austria. About 100 works of great importance in European art history, collected by the Habsburgs for about 600 years from the 15th to the 20th century, visited Korea.

In this exhibition, you can also appreciate masterpieces of masters of the era, such as Diego Velázquez, Spain's best court painter, Peter Paul Rubens, who painted Greek and Roman mythology, and Jan I Bruegel.

The exhibition is divided into five themes and focuses on the works of representative collectors of the Habsburg family.

What you see now is a portrait of Maximilian I, who raised the Habsburgs to the ranks of European powers.

The portrait you see now is Rudolf II, son of Maximalian II, who, although politically incompetent, left a mark as an art collector.

After he became emperor, he moved the capital to Prague and brought together many artists and craftsmen to make Prague an art center.

This man is Archduke Ferdinand II, famous for his extraordinary collection of armor, weapons and paintings, and for designing Europe's first museum.

It is very impressive that he is holding the club of Hercules, and the colorful wreath is said to symbolize the authority of the ruler.
It is an armor work that overwhelms the eyes from the entrance.

In the Middle Ages and Renaissance, armor was one of the most expensive items a man could own, and it is said that it represented social status and power as well as protecting the body in battle.

You can also see the works of Rubens, the master of Baroque art in the 17th century, who brought his works to life with strong contrasts and dynamic structures.

Velazquez was the court painter of Philip IV, who led the end of the Spanish Golden Age, and is considered one of the best painters of the Baroque period.

He painted a portrait of Princess Margarita Teresa. This portrait was made to send to my fiancée when there were no cameras. The person in this picture is the main image of this exhibition and is a very famous person who appears in Velázquez's 'The Handmaidens'.

Maria Theresia was the only queen of the Habsburgs. She is one of Austria's most beloved figures as a leading figure in Austria's modernization. That is why she is called 'the mother of Austria and mother-in-law of Europe'. She has 16 children, most of whom had to marry by arrangement in order to make peace with France. Her youngest daughter is Queen Marie-Antoinette, the wife of the famous French King Louis XVI.

Franz Joseph I, the last emperor of Austria. After establishing a dual state system with Hungary, he ruled for 68 years, the longest period among emperors.

This is Elizabeth, whom Franz Josef fell in love with at first sight. She lived a beautiful but tragic life. So her story has been made into musicals and movies.

In 1892, King Gojong presented "Helm and Armor" to Franz Joseph I to commemorate the establishment of diplomatic ties between Joseon and Austria-Hungary.

These have been preserved in the Vienna Art History Museum to this day. They come back to Korea after 130 years, so I feel special. In particular, the state of preservation is so excellent that it gives a greater impression.

More than 100 exhibits with extraordinary details befitting its reputation, such as the fine brushstrokes and light reflections of hyper-realism.

Looking at their exhibits who ruled the Holy Roman Empire and Austrian territories, I could not help but marvel at their extraordinary wealth and great eyes.

The works of art they collected through their passion and philosophy of art are in the possession and management of the Museum of Art History in Vienna, Austria. Their works of art are the property of all mankind.

This exhibition delighted my eyes. I hope you all enjoy this exhibition as well. I would highly recommend this exhibition to you.
It was a tour of the works of the "Habsburg 600 Years" exhibition held at the National Museum of Korea.
