March will see Cho performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as the "Emperor Concerto," followed by a solo recital in April featuring the complete piano works of French composer Maurice Ravel.
In an interview with the Berlin Philharmonic, Cho expressed his delight at becoming the artist-in-residence, stating that he had the opportunity to curate the program according to his preferences.
Regarding his plan to perform all of Ravel’s piano works in one evening, Cho acknowledged the challenge but emphasized his long-held dream of presenting such a program. He noted that 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of Ravel’s birth, making it a fitting tribute to the composer.
Cho Seong-Jin made history in October 2015 by becoming the first Korean and the third Asian to win the International Chopin Piano Competition.
