SEOUL — Global K-pop powerhouse Blackpink is officially in comeback mode, releasing the official trailer for its highly anticipated Blackpink World Tour: Deadline on Wednesday via the group’s social media channels.
The nearly two-minute video opens on a desolate desert landscape, where member Rosé is seen dialing a number from an old-fashioned payphone. A Western-inspired soundtrack soon kicks in as the camera pans to the four members — Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé — speeding down an empty desert highway, dressed like stars in a stylized postmodern road film.
The trailer ends with a high-energy reunion scene, showing all four members hitting the road together — a visual ode to their unity and signature charisma.
According to YG Entertainment, the trailer was shot on location in the deserts around Lancaster, California, and in a Hollywood studio, brought to life by a top-tier international production team.
“This is just the beginning,” said YG in a statement. “Everyone involved went all-in to make this a world-class show.”
The trailer release comes just days ahead of the group’s Deadline tour kickoff, set for July 5 at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
Following the opener, Blackpink will take the tour global, with 31 performances across 16 cities including Los Angeles, Paris, Bangkok, and Tokyo — marking one of the group’s largest international tours to date.
Adding to the anticipation, the tour will feature the premiere of Blackpink’s new single — their first release in nearly three years. While few details about the track have been revealed, industry insiders are already predicting another genre-defying, chart-topping hit.
