Illit, a new K-pop group, has sustained a notable position on the Billboard charts for five consecutive weeks with their debut single, "Magnetic," despite concerns regarding the group's originality.
According to Billboard, "Magnetic," the lead track from Illit’s first EP, "Super Real Me," secured spots at No. 8 and No. 21 on the Global (Excl. US) and Global 200 charts dated May 4, respectively. These charts evaluate top songs based on streaming and sales activity from over 200 countries worldwide.
Previously, "Magnetic" also made its mark on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart dated April 20, making Illit the first K-pop act to achieve this feat with a debut single.
Described as a hybrid dance number with elements of pluggnb and house sounds, "Magnetic" was composed with the involvement of Bang Si-hyuk, the founder and head producer of Hybe.
Additionally, Illit's debut EP has maintained strong positions on Billboard’s World Albums and Heatseekers Albums charts for five consecutive weeks, claiming the No. 5 and No. 9 spots, respectively.
