French architecture firm HEMAA has completed the Parc des Loges Childhood and Sports Center in Évry-Courcouronnes, France, marking a significant addition to the community's recreational and educational infrastructure. The 2,444 square meter facility, completed in 2025, serves as both an elementary and middle school sports center while providing comprehensive childhood development programs for the local community.

The project represents a thoughtful integration of sustainable design principles and modern educational needs. HEMAA's design emphasizes the use of natural materials, particularly wood and rammed earth construction, demonstrating the firm's commitment to environmentally conscious architecture. The building features a distinctive timber structure executed by CUNIN, complemented by rammed earth walls constructed by DONATO under consultation from BETerre, creating a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary building techniques.

The architectural design maximizes the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, with 3,854 square meters of outdoor areas complementing the interior facilities. The building's layout encourages both structured learning activities and free play, with specialized zones designed for different age groups and activities. The facility includes modern sports equipment and recreational areas, supported by comprehensive mechanical systems including advanced heating and ventilation systems designed by LGC and BE MAROLLE.

The project involved extensive collaboration with local specialists and contractors. Structural engineering was handled by DONATO, while landscape design was entrusted to Wald, who also managed biodiversity considerations for the site. The comprehensive construction team included TERRE ET PIERRE for earthworks and civil engineering, Sarmates for roofing and waterproofing systems, and SERTAC for wall finishes and floor treatments. Interior elements were carefully crafted by PESCIA MENUISERIE ET BÂTIMENT for joinery work, while specialized kitchen equipment was provided by FROID 77.

Photography of the completed project was captured by Charles Bouchaid and Sergio Grazia, documenting the successful integration of the facility within its urban context. The building provides 50 underground parking spaces, addressing practical needs while preserving the ground-level landscape design. The project coordination was managed by JDM Ingénierie, with cost consulting services provided by ANA Ingénierie, ensuring efficient project delivery within budget parameters.

The Parc des Loges Childhood and Sports Center stands as a model for contemporary educational architecture, demonstrating how sustainable design principles can be successfully applied to create facilities that serve multiple community functions. The project's emphasis on natural materials and environmental integration positions it as a significant contribution to France's growing portfolio of eco-conscious public buildings.
