J.Y. Park, the founder and head of K-pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment, is closing 2024 on a high note with the release of a new digital single and a series of concerts in Seoul. On Monday, JYP Entertainment revealed a teaser image for J.Y. Park’s upcoming single, titled “Easy Lover,” through its social media channels. This new track commemorates his 30th anniversary in the entertainment industry and follows his 1980s-inspired synth-pop single “Changed Man,” which was released in November 2023.

The new song, “Easy Lover,” will mark J.Y. Park’s return to the music scene after nearly a year. Known for his catchy melodies and trendsetting music, Park has consistently made waves throughout his three-decade career. In an interesting collaboration, actors Cha Joo-young, from Netflix’s hit series “The Glory,” and Lee Yi-kyung, known for his roles in “Marry My Husband” and “Royal Secret Agent,” will appear in the music video, adding more star power to the project.

To celebrate his remarkable 30-year career, J.Y. Park will also be hosting a concert series titled “Still JYP” from December 27 to 29 at Olympic Hall in Seoul’s Olympic Park. These concerts promise to be a grand finale for 2024, offering fans a mix of nostalgia and the artist’s evergreen performance energy. This year-end showcase will highlight both his latest hits and classics, providing a retrospective journey through his career as an artist, producer, and K-pop industry pioneer.

Throughout 2024, Park has been highly active, demonstrating his versatility as both a performer and producer. Notably, he took the stage with Hybe Chairman Bang Si-hyuk at Weverse Con in June, showcasing a rare collaboration between two of K-pop’s most influential figures. In September, he captivated audiences by performing his iconic hits alongside other K-pop artists he produced during the KBS Chuseok special “Ddanddara JYP.”

In addition to his music releases and concerts, Park has taken on a new role as a television judge. Starting this Sunday, he will serve as a judge on “The Ddanddara,” a competition airing on KBS, which he is also producing. The show aims to discover multitalented stars capable of singing, dancing, acting, and entertaining—qualities that Park himself embodies. His involvement as both a judge and producer showcases his commitment to nurturing new talent and solidifying his role as a key influencer in the K-pop landscape.

J.Y. Park’s ability to remain relevant and innovative in an ever-changing industry is a testament to his skills and dedication. Over the past three decades, he has not only shaped the careers of many successful K-pop acts but also consistently entertained audiences with his distinct flair. With “Easy Lover” and the “Still JYP” concert series, Park is both celebrating his legacy and proving that he still has much to offer as a creator and performer.

His upcoming concerts are expected to draw both long-time fans and new followers, eager to experience the artist’s dynamic stage presence and the hits that have defined his career. The concerts will also serve as an opportunity for Park to reflect on his influence over K-pop’s global rise while looking forward to more projects and continued artistic pursuits.

As J.Y. Park wraps up 2024 with these celebratory events, his enduring presence in the entertainment industry underlines his impact not only as an artist but also as a producer who has significantly shaped the K-pop scene over the past 30 years. The industry veteran continues to inspire younger generations of artists while contributing to the ever-expanding narrative of K-pop’s success on the global stage.
