Super Junior’s Yesung is set to return to the music scene as a solo artist with the release of his sixth EP, It’s Complicated, on November 5. This highly anticipated album will feature five new tracks, including the title song, marking Yesung’s first solo comeback in over a year. SM Entertainment, his agency, confirmed the release and teased fans with the promise of a refined and mature sound from the veteran artist.
Yesung’s previous solo album, Unfading Sense, was released in October last year and garnered significant attention, topping the iTunes Top Albums charts in 16 countries. The success of his fifth EP highlighted his versatility and artistry as a solo vocalist, independent of his work with Super Junior. Fans are eager to see how It’s Complicated will continue to showcase Yesung's growth and evolution as a solo performer.
The timing of this new album is especially meaningful as Yesung approaches the 20th anniversary of his debut with Super Junior in 2025. Over the years, Yesung has established himself as not only a key member of one of K-pop’s longest-running groups but also as a talented solo artist with a distinct vocal style. His ability to balance his group activities with solo projects has made him a well-rounded and respected figure in the industry.
Yesung has remained active throughout 2023, embarking on his solo Asian tour, Unfading Sense, which spanned nine cities from late 2023 to early 2024. The tour received positive reviews, further solidifying his reputation as a captivating live performer. Additionally, from June to September, Yesung joined Super Junior for their Super Show Spin-off: Halftime concerts across eight cities in Asia, proving his dedication to both his solo career and his group activities.
Later this month, Yesung will perform at the Mawang 10th: Ghost Stage tribute concert, held in honor of the late rock legend Shin Hae-chul. The event, taking place on October 26 and 27 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, will feature Yesung’s reinterpretations of Shin’s classic hits, giving fans a unique opportunity to see his versatility as an artist. His participation in this tribute is not only a testament to his wide-ranging musical skills but also to his ability to honor the legacies of other great musicians.
As Yesung prepares to release It’s Complicated, fans are eagerly awaiting both the new music and the direction his career will take leading up to his milestone 20th anniversary in 2025. With his continued involvement in both solo and group activities, Yesung remains a prominent figure in the K-pop industry, known for his emotional depth and vocal prowess.
