Rookie K-pop girl group Illit has reached a remarkable milestone, amassing 400 million streams on Spotify with their debut song, “Magnetic,” as announced by their agency, Belift Lab, on Thursday. This achievement was accomplished in just 176 days, setting a new record for the fastest debut single by a K-pop group to reach such numbers.
Illit had already set multiple records on Spotify, surpassing 100 million, 200 million, and 300 million streams faster than any other K-pop girl group in history. "Magnetic," the lead track of their first EP Super Real Me, has topped both domestic and international music charts. The song also made notable debuts on Billboard’s Hot 100 and the UK’s Official Singles Top 100, ranking at No. 91 and No. 80, respectively. Notably, it is the first debut song by a K-pop act to enter either of these prestigious charts.
In addition to their streaming success, Illit has garnered significant attention for their rapid rise in the global music scene. The group’s debut EP further solidified their presence, resonating with fans around the world through its dynamic sound and innovative choreography.
As anticipation grows, rumors have circulated about a potential comeback. Local media outlets reported that Illit has recently completed filming a new music video, sparking speculation that the group will make their return in October. Fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation of the group's next move, hoping for another breakthrough release.
Belift Lab has yet to confirm specific details about the comeback, but the group’s swift success with "Magnetic" has solidified their position as one of the most promising new acts in the K-pop industry.
