Two prominent members of the popular K-pop supergroup NCT, Doyoung and Jungwoo, will begin their mandatory military service together next month, according to an official announcement from their management company. SM Entertainment revealed that both artists will enter the same military boot camp on December 8, marking a significant moment for the globally successful boy group.

The entertainment agency made the announcement through Weverse, a popular Korean fan community platform widely used by K-pop artists to communicate with their followers. According to the statement, both singers will undergo five weeks of basic military training at the same facility before being assigned to their respective service roles.

Following the completion of their initial training period, the two members will take different paths within the military structure. Doyoung will serve as an active-duty soldier in the Korean Army, while Jungwoo has been assigned to join a military band, where he will likely continue to utilize his musical talents during his service period.

SM Entertainment has specifically requested that fans refrain from visiting the enlistment site on December 8. The agency emphasized safety concerns, noting that the facility will be crowded with many soldiers and their families on that day. Additionally, the company confirmed that there will be no separate ceremony held to mark the occasion of their enlistment.

Both artists have established themselves as integral members of NCT since their respective debuts with the group. Doyoung first joined NCT in 2016, while Jungwoo became a member in 2018. The two have also collaborated closely as part of NCT DoJaeJung, a specialized unit within the larger 25-member boy group structure.

The upcoming enlistment reflects South Korea's mandatory military service requirement, which applies to all able-bodied men in the country. Under this system, eligible males must serve in the military for a minimum period of 18 months, with no exceptions for entertainers or celebrities.
