K-pop artist JINI, formerly of the girl group NMIXX under JYP Entertainment, has made a comeback to the music scene with her debut solo album titled "An Iron Hand In A Velvet Glove."

In a press event held at Shinhan pLay Square Live Hall in Mapo District, western Seoul, JINI discussed her transition to a solo career and the release of her debut solo album.

JINI's departure from NMIXX in December 2022 surprised the K-pop community, given her history as a trainee with JYP Entertainment for seven years and her debut just 10 months prior. The agency attributed her departure to "personal circumstances," generating speculation.

The solo album, "An Iron Hand In A Velvet Glove," embodies JINI's personality — resilient internally yet graceful externally. It includes five tracks, notably the English-language title song "C'mon."

During the press event, JINI chose not to elaborate on her departure from NMIXX, focusing on her music. She expressed nervousness about her solo debut and emphasized her dedication to giving her best in this new phase of her career.

The album's title song "C'mon" features English lyrics, a choice influenced by JINI's fondness for the demo's English version. JINI had been actively engaging with her international fanbase on platforms like TikTok before her solo debut, aiming to showcase different aspects of her personality.

Looking forward, JINI expressed her aspirations for her solo career, aiming to connect with and expand her fanbase. Despite feeling nervous, she conveyed her commitment to showcasing her growth and development as an artist.
