Medical experts are advising caution regarding the popular "Slickback" or "Jubi slide" dance challenge, as it has the potential to cause serious damage to the knees and ankles, according to recent warnings.
Actor Jeon Hye-bin shared on social media that she sustained an injury to her leg while practicing the dance move, cautioning others against attempting it on slippery surfaces like parking lots.

Orthopedician Lee Dong-nyeong from Mokdong Himchan Hospital highlighted the strain that the slickback dance places on the knees and ankles. The move involves jumping and spinning while crossing both legs, making individuals susceptible to ankle sprains and various knee injuries, including bruises.
Lee emphasized the importance of stretching the ankles and knees before attempting the dance and recommended avoiding overexertion. Additionally, he suggested performing the dance on non-slippery surfaces to minimize the risk of injury.
Potential injuries associated with the slickback dance include patellar tendon rupture (commonly known as jumper's knee), ankle sprains, ligament damage, and joint swelling.
The dance gained widespread attention in Korea, with numerous K-Pop figures, including JYP Entertainment founder and producer Park Jin-young, participating in the challenge. Originating from a middle school student's TikTok video, the slickback dance quickly went viral, amassing over 200 million views within five days.
