Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong Hosts Traditional K-Dessert Making Workshop Featuring Maejakgwa and Daechu-Cha

The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong is inviting food enthusiasts to experience authentic Korean flavors through a hands-on traditional dessert workshop scheduled for November 26. The event will focus on teaching participants how to prepare two beloved Korean classics: Maejakgwa, traditional ginger cookies, and Daechu-Cha, a warming jujube tea that perfectly complements the crispy treats.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, November 26, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the K-Food Classroom located on the 6th floor of the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong. Professional instructor Park Hye Min, who goes by Amy, will guide participants through the traditional preparation methods for both desserts. The session promises to offer an authentic taste of Korean culinary heritage while providing practical cooking skills that participants can recreate at home.

Maejakgwa represents one of Korea's most cherished traditional cookies, known for its distinctive crispy texture and aromatic qualities derived from ginger-infused dough. The preparation process involves careful attention to traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations. Complementing these delightful cookies, participants will also learn to prepare Daechu-Cha, a traditional Korean tea that requires gentle simmering of sweet dried jujubes over low heat to achieve the perfect balance of flavors.

However, due to limited classroom space, only 16 participants will be selected through a random drawing process. The application deadline is set for November 16, and successful applicants will receive confirmation via WhatsApp by November 17.
