Korea and Indonesia will clash in the quarterfinals of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, or 2:30 a.m. Friday in Seoul.

The AFC U-23 Asian Cup serves as the qualifying tournament for the Paris Olympics, with the top three teams earning spots in the Olympics, while the fourth-place team faces Guinea in an intercontinental playoff.

Coached by Hwang Sun-hong, Korea topped Group B with victories over the United Arab Emirates, China, and Japan.

Indonesia, led by Shin Tae-yong, finished second in Group A after defeating Australia and Jordan but falling to Qatar.

Hwang Sun-hong, 55, and Shin Tae-yong, 53, are both highly regarded in Korean football history, with Hwang enjoying international success and Shin making a name for himself in the domestic K League.

Shin previously coached the Korean national team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where they defeated Germany in the group stage.

Hwang has primarily worked with the under-23 national team and has not yet managed the senior squad on a permanent basis.

Both coaches have experience coaching in the K League, with Hwang's Busan IPark and Pohang Steelers having faced off against Shin's Seongnam during their respective tenures.

Indonesia has called up several foreign-born players of Indonesian descent for the tournament, providing them with additional experience from previous competitions such as the AFC Asian Cup.

Korea boasts forward Lee Young-jun as a key player in their offense, although he was rested during the final group match against Japan.
