On Tuesday, reports surfaced that Sungjong, a former member of the band Infinite, has terminated his contract with SPK Entertainment due to alleged non-payment issues. His attorney stated that Sungjong has sent certificate of contents letters to the management firm, formally notifying them of the contract termination. The decision comes after the agency purportedly failed to provide support and make payments from the profits generated by Sungjong over the past 15 months.

Sungjong, who debuted with Infinite in 2010, left Woollim Entertainment in January 2022 before signing with SPK Entertainment eight months later. During his time with the agency, Sungjong held a solo concert, released a single album, and embarked on a European tour. He also participated in the band's seventh EP and its Asia tour in the preceding year. Despite these activities, Sungjong claims to have not received any payments.

According to the performer, his attempts to reach a peaceful resolution with the agency were ignored. Last week, SPK Entertainment officially notified Sungjong that they would not engage in further discussions with him on the matter.
