G-Dragon, a member of the boy band Big Bang and an avid fine art collector, will have his artwork "Youth is Flower" auctioned at Seoul Auction's contemporary art fair on March 29. Created in 2017, the piece features marker and spray paint on a steel panel, with the auction starting at a minimum bid of 30 million won ($22,540), as stated on the auction house's website.
The auction event will also showcase works by visual artist Lee Bae, recognized for monochrome paintings and charcoal sculptures, and artist Kim Sun-woo, renowned for dodo bird designs.

G-Dragon's artistic endeavors extend beyond this auction, with his past inclusion on ARTnews' "50 Art Collectors to Watch" list in 2019. While he has previously contributed to collaborative pieces and showcased items from his collection, this marks the first instance of one of his individual creations being auctioned.

Notably, unlike other artists' works with disclosed estimated prices, G-Dragon's "Youth is Flower" invites a "separate inquiry" for pricing details. The auction, scheduled for 3 p.m. on March 29, will determine the winning bid for the artwork. Currently, "Youth is Flower" is on display at Seoul Auction's Gangnam center in southern Seoul.
