The Bronx Documentary Center in New York is presenting an exhibition titled "Women Photojournalists of Washington (WPOW)," showcasing remarkable photography work from 23 female photographers who are members of the organization. The exhibition is organized by Cheryl Diaz Meyer, a Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist who works with WPOW, and features outstanding photographs from the past year.

Women Photojournalists of Washington (WPOW) is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization dedicated to raising public awareness about the role of women and those who identify as women in visual journalism while promoting their professional success. The organization serves more than 400 members, including experienced and emerging photojournalists, photo editors, video journalists, multimedia producers, and other industry professionals, as well as students.

Beyond organizing exhibitions, WPOW provides scholarships and, most importantly, community support to its members. Each year, the organization hosts a traveling exhibition that presents work completed by its members during the previous year, giving them a platform to showcase their professional achievements and artistic vision.

The 2024 WPOW exhibition features work from an impressive roster of photographers, including Katina Zentz, Amy Toensing, Maansi Srivastava, Erin Schaff, Ana Elisa Sotelo van Oordt, Allison Robbert, Astrid Riecken, Amanda Andrade-Rhoades, Valerie Plesch, Rosa Pineda, Leah Millis, Jacquelyn Martin, Melina Mara, Anna Rose Layden, Olga Jaramillo, Evelyn Hockstein, Carol Guzy, Tierney Cross, Arwen Clemans, Bonnie Cash, Allison Bailey, Jocelyn Augustino, and Céline Apollo.

The Women Photojournalists of Washington (WPOW) exhibition will run from September 26 through November 2, 2025, at the Bronx Documentary Center, located at 614 Courtlandt Avenue, Bronx, NY 10451. More information about the exhibition and the venue can be found at www.bronxdoc.org.
