Dezeen Showroom has unveiled 10 groundbreaking new products in its latest showcase, with the Amia chair by Italian brand Miniforms taking center stage. The padded, upholstered chair, developed in collaboration with design studio E-ggs, was uniquely "conceived like a sofa" and represents the latest evolution in contemporary furniture design.
The Amia chair showcases distinctive design elements including flat, thick legs and a round-cornered backrest that can be customized with various bold fabrics. The chair features comprehensive padding and upholstery covering all surfaces, with optional wooden armrests that cantilever out from each side. This piece continues the successful collaborative relationship between Miniforms and E-ggs, demonstrating their shared commitment to innovative furniture solutions.
Among the other notable products featured is the Sensible Streaker door pull by Australian interior design studio YSG for hardware brand Bankston Architectural. This slender door pull is characterized by alternating bands of naturally colorful timber and is part of a wider collection called The Streaks. The product comes in three colorways, all crafted from uniquely-hued forms of solid wood, showcasing the natural beauty of timber materials.
British lighting brand Curiousa contributed the Pastello bathroom lighting collection, featuring a colorful assortment of wall-mounted lights designed specifically for bathroom environments. The collection comprises posable, dish-shaped, and suspended lighting fixtures, all unified by a cohesive pastel color palette that brings warmth and personality to functional spaces.
The furniture category is further represented by the Planar table, a collaboration between Spanish furniture brand Andreu World and renowned designer Rodolfo Dordoni. This broad, sturdy meeting table features distinctive A-shaped legs at each end and a unique top construction comprising a chunky lower section topped by a slim contrasting tabletop, creating visual interest while maintaining functionality.
British workplace brand Bisley has expanded its iconic MultiDrawer storage units, originally released in 1958, by adding new colors and enhanced functionalities. These versatile units are now available in various hues, including occasional limited edition colors, as well as different size formats and versions that can serve as desk bases, demonstrating the timeless appeal of well-designed storage solutions.
Textile innovations are represented by US brand Cicil's Tartan Shuttle Weave rugs, featuring pure wool construction with a timeless check print reinterpreted in an exaggerated size. The collection offers three sophisticated color combinations: warm neutral Daylight, blue-and-burgundy Dusk, and cool neutral Twilight, providing options for diverse interior aesthetics.
Sustainable design takes center stage with the New Moon chair, a collaboration between Indonesian brand Bamboo Pure and Elora Hardy, founder of Ibuku architecture studio. This lounge chair features a sweeping backrest with a frame made entirely from bamboo, successfully combining European steam-bent seat aesthetics with the natural materiality of bamboo, a construction material native to Southeast Asia.
Innovative wall treatments are showcased through two distinct products: the Borealis wall covering by US textile company Designtex, featuring multicolored, painterly strokes designed to create calming effects in wellbeing, hospitality, and healthcare settings; and the revolutionary Archisonic Mycelium wall tiles by Swiss brand Impact Acoustic. These unique tiles are grown rather than manufactured, made from mycelium – the root network of fungi – and come in a single natural color with inherent sound-absorbing properties.
Rounding out the collection is the expanded Project collection flooring by British company Ted Todd, which has added new shades, plank sizes, and thicknesses to its oaken floor range. The collection now includes shades named Almond, Brindle, Calico, Caramel, Petworth, and Tattenhall, ranging from pale woods to rich, chocolate-hued timber options. These products collectively represent the current trends in design, emphasizing sustainability, functionality, and aesthetic innovation across multiple categories of interior furnishings and architectural elements.
