The community center of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer is hosting a photography exhibition featuring the work of seven photographers who share a passion for the Royan area. The exhibition, titled "Spotlight on Charente-Maritime," runs from Monday, August 18 through Sunday, August 31 in the town's small community hall.
The showcase highlights the artistic work of seven talented photographers: Slow Life Photography, Benoît Beaupel, Benjamin Babiz, Virginie Photos, Yohan P.Photos, Chris Hacquard, and Eric Larigaldie. These photographers have come together to celebrate and capture the beauty of the Charente-Maritime region through their unique perspectives and artistic vision.
According to David Vermersch, who goes by the alias Slow Life Photography, the group has developed a strong connection over the past two years. "For two years, we've been following each other on social media. Each of us admires the work of the others," Vermersch explained. The photographers discovered they had been frequenting the same locations and capturing similar scenic spots throughout the region.
"We would cross paths on the beaches at the same spots," Vermersch noted, describing how the photographers naturally gravitated toward the same picturesque locations along the coastline. This shared appreciation for the region's natural beauty and photographic opportunities eventually led to their collaborative exhibition, bringing together their diverse styles and interpretations of the Charente-Maritime landscape.
