As summer arrives, photography enthusiasts worldwide can look forward to an exciting lineup of exhibitions, workshops, and festivals spanning from Europe to Japan. These events highlight the diverse landscape of contemporary photography, featuring renowned artists and emerging talents across multiple venues and formats.

One of the most anticipated events is "The Art of Storytelling: Reportage, Series, Essay" workshop with acclaimed photographer Gerd Ludwig, taking place in Nagasaki, Japan. Hosted by Nobechi Creative from September 27th to October 9th, 2025, this intensive program will explore the fundamental techniques of photographic storytelling across different genres including documentary photography, series work, and visual essays.

In the heart of Provence, France, the inaugural Dora Maar Film Festival promises to bring a fresh perspective to arts documentation. Scheduled from August 29th to August 31st, 2025, the festival will be held at two prestigious venues: Hôtel du Tingry and Le Domaine du Fortin in Ménerbes. This new celebration focuses specifically on documentary films about the arts, creating a unique platform for filmmakers and artists to showcase their work.

Paris will host a significant exhibition featuring the work of Bruno Sassarone at Galerie Arnoux, located at 27 rue Guénégaud in the 6th arrondissement. Running from November 12th to November 22nd, 2025, this exhibition will present Sassarone's distinctive photographic vision in one of the city's respected gallery spaces.

Meanwhile, London's photography scene will be enriched by "Grace and Fire," a comprehensive exhibition of works by Gérard Uféras. The show will run throughout August 2025 at Kulturalis, situated at 14 Old Queen Street, London SW1H 9HP, offering visitors an entire month to experience Uféras's compelling photographic narrative.

These events represent just a fraction of the summer's photography offerings, as documented by The Eye of Photography, which continues to chronicle the evolution of the medium through daily coverage. The publication offers subscription services starting from 8 euros for one month to 79 euros for an annual subscription, providing access to thousands of images and articles that document photography's ongoing development and historical significance.
