Scheduled to arrive in Korea this week, EJAE will participate in a press conference with local media on Wednesday. Her Korean visit will also include an appearance on tvN's popular talk show "You Quiz on the Block," where she is expected to discuss her work on the "KPop Demon Hunters" soundtrack and her recent live performance of "Golden" on a major U.S. talk show. The timing of her visit coincides with the announcement of her solo debut single "In Another World," which is set for release on October 24.
EJAE's journey to international recognition follows an unconventional path in the entertainment industry. Originally a trainee at SM Entertainment, one of South Korea's major entertainment agencies, she later pivoted to composing after pursuing studies in the United States. Her career reached new heights with the global success of "KPop Demon Hunters" and "Golden," for which she served as both composer and performer, lending her voice to Rumi, the main character of the animated film.
Released in June, "KPop Demon Hunters" tells the story of Huntrix, a K-pop girl group leading double lives as demon hunters. The film's theme song "Golden" has achieved remarkable commercial success, spending an impressive eight weeks at the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The song's success has catapulted EJAE into the international spotlight, alongside fellow vocalists Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna, who also contributed to the virtual girl group's sound. The trio performed together on "The Tonight Show" on October 7, further cementing the song's cultural impact.
Reflecting on her unexpected success, EJAE expressed her gratitude through social media on October 5, stating, "I'm so humbled and grateful for the love I've received as a songwriter and the singing voice of Rumi from KPop Demon Hunters." She also revealed her artistic vision for her upcoming solo career, explaining her desire to give new life to previously unreleased compositions. "I wrote some songs that never found the right home. I've decided I want my artist project to give life to those songs, so people can laugh, dance, or cry with me and the amazing collaborators who helped create them," she wrote.
Looking ahead to her solo debut, EJAE described "In Another World" as deeply personal work that emerged during a challenging period in her life. "There's one song that feels like the perfect place to start. Writing this song helped me through a hard time, and I hope that sharing it can help others, too. It's called In Another World and is releasing on 10/24/25," she shared with her followers.
