The 24th edition of the Barrobjectif photography festival is set to showcase approximately 540 prints from 26 photographers in the streets of Barro from September 13 to 21. This year's festival features renowned photographer Alain Laboile as the guest of honor, presenting a rare and heartwarming focus on family themes that marks a deliberate shift toward lighter subject matter.

The organizing team from the Barro Photo association has made a conscious decision to target more uplifting themes while maintaining their commitment to high-quality artistic presentation. This strategic choice reflects the festival's evolution as it continues to attract both local residents and photography enthusiasts from across the region. The festival has established itself as a significant cultural event in the photography calendar, consistently delivering exceptional exhibitions that transform the town's streets into an open-air gallery.

Alain Laboile, serving as the 2025 guest of honor, will present his celebrated work that captures an ode to the carefree nature of childhood in Barro's prairie setting. His photography is particularly noted for its intimate portrayal of family life and the innocent joy of children, making it a perfect fit for this year's lighter thematic approach. Laboile's work resonates with audiences through its authentic representation of everyday moments and the natural spontaneity of childhood experiences.

Currently, the Barro Photo association team is actively preparing for the festival and seeking volunteers to help set up the various exhibitions before the September 13 opening date. This community involvement has become an integral part of the festival's success, with local volunteers playing a crucial role in transforming Barro into a vibrant photography destination. The festival's outdoor exhibition format allows visitors to experience art in an accessible and immersive way, creating a unique cultural atmosphere throughout the town during the nine-day event.
