A spectacular new mural featuring the legendary racing driver Michel Vaillant has been completed in Angoulême, France, adding another impressive artwork to the city's renowned painted wall collection. Artists Maud Royole and Hervé Gay spent five intensive days working at a height of ten meters to create this monumental fresco that celebrates the iconic French comic book character.

The striking new artwork is strategically positioned at the intersection of Gambetta Avenue and République Avenue, where it now faces another famous mural - "L'Archiviste" (The Archivist) by renowned Belgian comic artist François Schuiten, which adorns the departmental archives building. This placement creates a powerful artistic dialogue between two significant works in the city's outdoor gallery.

Working with brushes in hand while perched ten meters above the ground, the two artists put the finishing touches on what has become the newest addition to Angoulême's celebrated painted walls tour. The mural showcases the thrilling universe of Michel Vaillant, the roaring race car driver who has captivated audiences for decades through the beloved comic book series.

The Michel Vaillant-themed fresco represents a perfect tribute to one of France's most enduring automotive adventure characters, bringing the excitement and energy of motor racing to the streets of Angoulême in large-scale format. This latest addition continues the city's tradition of honoring comic book culture through stunning public art installations that transform ordinary building walls into extraordinary visual experiences for residents and visitors alike.
