At a physical therapy clinic in Ayguesvives, France, an artistic project is taking shape this September 2025. With a brush in one hand and a thick marker in the other, artist Mzelle Cecca Artwork is creating a mural not on canvas, but on an even larger surface: a wall that was originally pristine white. Line by line, various plants begin to emerge, bringing color and cheerfulness to the wall, which gradually becomes a living canvas directly integrated into the space.
The painter, who hails from this same commune in the Lauragais region, has specialized in this art form for four years: creating custom wall decorations for both private individuals and professionals. Her repertoire includes forest scenes, manga and anime characters, foliage, Marvel superheroes, and wild animals.
The wall she's working on today stretches more than seven meters long. Originally white, it connects the waiting room to the professional offices. The clinic owner didn't hesitate to contact Mzelle Cecca Artwork to bring life to this space. The artist observes the first brushstrokes she has applied to the area: "Over time, the wall took some hits from foot traffic. This mural helps divert attention from the stains while breaking up the length. The client wanted to dress up the wall so that a gentle decoration would accompany patients from the waiting room to the treatment room, bringing life to the space." The chosen theme is nature, with large dandelions gradually taking over the wall, accompanied by other vegetation.
While she admits to starting out by creating numerous children's bedrooms, her creations have since diversified as her business has grown. Her projects span all genres: savanna animals, rainbows, Disney characters, and marine scenes. Beyond children's rooms, she now tackles adult and teenage bedrooms with anime characters, cherry blossoms, Marvel universe characters, or vegetation themes.
She has also integrated into the business world, leaving her mark in company meeting rooms and on exterior walls of establishments: logos, restaurant decorations, and more. In short, she handles all possible and imaginable projects. Whether clients have a precise idea in mind or simply a theme with complete creative freedom, Mzelle Cecca Artwork takes charge of finding the concept that leads to the sketch, then the simulation, before the brushes get involved.
She has created trompe-l'oeil effects for a restaurant, a manga-themed headboard, and a wall with a Tahitian theme. The artist wants to make her services as accessible as possible, as she explains: "There are many panoramic wallpapers available, but it's impossible to personalize them. With paint, all you need is a white, smooth wall to create something that reflects who we are."
Her artistic journey began early in life. "Ever since I was little, even in elementary school, I created coloring templates for students at the day care center," smiles the young woman who started taking drawing lessons in middle school. "I mainly drew portraits in dry pastel because facial expressions fascinate me: bringing out emotions from a drawing and having people perceive them touches me deeply." Although faces aren't a common request, she finds these emotions when creating wall murals, notes this self-taught artist: "It's a beautiful gift to give a child, and I love seeing them discover the decoration I created in their room – they're filled with emotions!"
While she creates works throughout Occitania, in Aveyron, Gers, and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, the painter is originally from Lauragais and attended middle school in Ayguesvives. It's not without emotion that she returns to her roots for this project: "It's been about twenty years since I last set foot in the commune.
