Sayart / Aug 12, 2025

The Pacific Grove Art Center will open four new exhibitions running from September 5 through October 30, featuring diverse artistic expressions from photography to coffee-based artwork. Located at 568 Lighthouse Avenue, the center will host opening receptions for all four shows on September 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The first exhibition, "Embracing Light: An ImageMakers Exhibition," will be displayed in the Gill Gallery. This photography show utilizes Renaissance techniques of embracing light and dark contrasts to enhance atmosphere, reflect narrative themes, and present emotion and mood. Curated by Corey Madden, Executive Director of the Monterey Museum of Art, the exhibition features photographs accompanied by detailed descriptions of each artist's emotional and creative intentions behind their work.

The Dyke Gallery will present "Cultivating the Artist: Personal Works of Art Teachers," which showcases artwork created by educators in their personal time. This exhibition, titled "Beneath Pacific Skies," offers visitors an extensive collection of Central Coast seascapes. The featured scenes range from stunning depictions of cliffside poppies to expansive sand dune vistas, capturing the natural beauty of the California coastline.

A unique exhibition titled "Brewed Truths in Love" by artist Ghassan Saeb will be featured in the Annand Gallery. Saeb, who works as a pediatrician by profession, is an immigrant artist whose creative work has been profoundly shaped by his experiences with war. He uses coffee as an unconventional artistic medium to convey a sense of home and belonging. Through his coffee-based artwork, Saeb aims to draw viewers into a contemplative space of reflection and healing.

The Boyer Gallery will host "Art Fusion: Painters and Poets," featuring collaborative works by Jevin Lee Albuquerque, Tonni Lynn Albuquerque, and Katieann Vogel. This exhibition explores the intersection between visual art and literary expression, demonstrating how different artistic mediums can complement and enhance each other.

The Pacific Grove Art Center has served as a cornerstone of the Monterey Peninsula arts community since its establishment in 1969. Beyond hosting rotating exhibitions, the PGAC maintains seventeen professional artist studios that provide dedicated creative workspaces for local talent, supporting the region's vibrant artistic ecosystem throughout the year.
