Wolverhampton Wanderers faced a disappointing 3-2 loss to Championship side Coventry City in the FA Cup quarterfinals on Saturday. The match at Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton, England, saw Coventry's Ellis Simms opening the scoring in the 53rd minute.
Wolves' top scorer Hwang Hee-chan was sidelined due to injury, but the team managed to equalize with goals from Rayan Ait-Nouri in the 83rd minute and Hugo Bueno in the 88th minute. However, Coventry's Simms scored an injury-time goal in the 97th minute to level the score, followed by Haji Wright's winner in the 100th minute.

This victory marked Coventry's first FA Cup semifinal appearance since 1987, when they clinched the title by defeating Tottenham Hotspur. Coventry becomes the first Championship side to reach the semifinals this season.
In other FA Cup action on Saturday, reigning Premier League champions Manchester City secured their spot in the semifinals with a 2-0 win over Newcastle United. Two additional teams are set to advance to the semifinals following Sunday's quarterfinal fixtures, including matches between Chelsea and Leicester City, as well as Manchester United and Liverpool.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will return to Premier League action on March 31 against Aston Villa, currently occupying ninth place in the 20-team table as of press time on Sunday.
